Carpet Stains
Carpet stains and spills can be very stubborn and hard to remove. They also look terrible on a nice carpet, that has an odd, noticeable and different colour stain showing on it. There are a range of measures you can commence and tasks you can do to try to remove carpet stains to ensure they are no longer noticeable. The process would vary for new stains and old stains. It is worth noting that old stains will be much harder to remove than new stains.
In the event that the stain is too stubborn, and the recommendations below have not worked, I would recommend purchasing a carpet stain remover from your local store and giving it an attempt as an alternative. Follow the steps below to successfully clean your ceiling properly, and safely. Ceilings are very noticeable. Visitors to your home will be more comfortable in a clean space and will be sure to notice you clean your ceiling.
New Stains
With new stains, the number one rule is to respond to them as soon as they happen/possible. This is to ensure the stain or spill does not have time to dry, which will make the process difficult.
The first step is to instantly use towel to soak up as much of the spill as you can. Try not to move the towel around to much so you do not smudge it further into the carpet.
Secondly use a warm and soapy solution, with another towel that has been soaked in that solution and apply it to the stain and spill. The soap should stop the stain from settling within the carpet.
I would then grab another towel and go over the spill, that by now, you would have pulled out of the carpet with the water and soap solution.
Old Stains
Old stains, depending on how long they have been there, can be quite hard to get out of the carpet. I would first start by introducing hot and soapy water to the spill or stain. This is to get the stain to loosen up so that it is not as hard.
I would next get a towel and using a scrubbing motion, I would scrub at the stain while adding further hot soapy water if the stain is still in a hard state. You might have to scrub for a while, but you should begin to see the stain slowly lifting.
If the stain is too stubborn, as I mentioned above, try a carpet cleaner and give it a go as an option.
Conclusion
The number one rule to remember is to attend to the stain as soon as possible before it gets time to dry and possibly permanently stain the carpet. The above methods are safe, environmentally friendly solutions to both you and your carpet.
There is no guarantee any of the above methods will work, it will also depend on the colour of your carpet. Lighter carpets are much harder to clean and make a stain unnoticeable compared to darker carpets. To read more of our blogs click here.
